About
The story of Kami Studios
The shop is named after the Japanese Shinto gods of nature called Kami. From the very most ancient times, these deity look after and embody all forms of wildlife and flora.
Each of my jewellery pieces tells a story of plant mythology and folklore, and is intricately handmade in the hopes of bringing you closer to nature. My passion for history and botany help me infuse each item with ancient meaning, magic and mystery...
Meet the artist
Each piece is handmade by the artist (myself), Sophie Gambrill and my wonderful fiance, Harry, helps me along the way! I'm originally from Siberia, but grew up in the UK in the countryside. My art is inspired by my surroundings, and the people I love :)
I originally conceived of Kami Studios whilst working an online job from home. Sitting at home all day was getting to me so I decided to create these tiny works of art in my breaks. The making process was so gratifying that soon my little sculptures became a business!
